These signs are an effective and eye catching variation to standard school crossing signs. This Blinker sign combines highly visible fluorescent yellow green sheeting with bright LEDs around the edge of the sign. The LED lights in the school crosswalk warning sign increase the sign's visibility range during the day and at night; therefore drivers notice them farther in advance than conventional signs. Because the LED lights are around the perimeter of the sign, the shape is easily recognizable to motorists as a pentagon shape which indicates a school area. Blinker signs direct drivers to be prepared to yield to pedestrians sooner; thus improving the safety of students who walk and bike to school.
